Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our Foundation Prioritizes

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

The Gamma Iota Sigma Foundation prioritizes a student-centered diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy driving long-term industry talent pool growth, diversification, and accessibility. Student and industry stakeholders amplify authenticity, inclusion, and diversity within the industry through the development of resources, forums, and actionable solutions.

Our Strategy Encompasses

Strategic University Engagement

Gamma Iota Sigma’s (GIS) ongoing collaboration with students, faculty, and career services professionals supports the Foundation’s commitment to providing an equitable and inclusive chapter support approach. Through the Foundation, resources and financial support are provided through Chapter Development Grants for current GIS chapters to be used for programming, leadership and professional development opportunities, and membership dues throughout the year. Chapter Expansion Grants are awarded to new chapters to support chartering fees, new membership dues, conference registration fees, and member recruitment. GIS will continue to strategically engage with additional Historically Black Colleges and Universities(HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Women’s Colleges,  and community colleges.

Intentional Programming

In collaboration with the Grand Chapter, Student Advisory Council, and chapter DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Officers, the Foundation delivers intentional and innovative programs, events, and collaborative forums for discussions around diversity, equity and inclusion and resource sharing among students and industry.

Inclusivity

The Foundation’s mission is to provide equitable resources to ALL students, regardless of background, and Gamma Iota Sigma is open to ANY student from ANY school. Students attending a school without a GIS chapter can join as an At-Large member.
